A campaign was launched in Dunedin today to save the country's iconic chocolate factory, Cadbury.
The Own The Factory campaign hopes to collect $20 million, to keep the factory open and has so far collected $70,000.
Pacific workers make up a third of the 350 workers who stand to lose their jobs, if Cadbury owners Mondelez close the factory in a fortnight.
Dunedin councillor and supporter of the campaign, Marie Laufiso, says they have high hopes for the factory and the workers.
"We have been negotiating with Mondelez and we're trying to get Dunedin people to support us," she says.
