Fiji's Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama says he's losing patience with world leaders who claim to support goals to combat climate change and go on to support coal-powered fuel initiatives.
He's told the United Nations gathering of leaders which ends this week, the climate change talks in Poland this December cannot afford to fail, and he's hinted countries like Australia and the United States need to get back on track.
"Leaders who ignore these threats and give their people new coal-fired power plants instead of a better future for their children, are either tragically short-sighted or simply engaging in a most cynical form of betrayal."
