Housing Minister Phil Twyford says urban renewal projects like the Tamaki Regeneration Company in the Auckland suburbs of Tāmaki and Panmure will continue.

National's controversial gentrification programme in Tāmaki saw the eviction and relocation of hundreds of families from state homes they had occupied for decades.
Twyford says Housing New Zealand tenants are guaranteed the right to return to their homes after the renewal programmes.
"What is really important to this government is that when we do urban renewal projects, we take the community along with us," he says. "There's an absolute guarantee that people who are state house tenants, required to move out of their house during the redevelopment, they will have the right to move back into those communities."
"We're certainly not about just gentrifying communities and pushing up property values."
Twyford says 55 state housing projects are underway in South Auckland.
