Niuean broadcaster Ioane Aleke Fa'avae says although Niue is low in numbers, they are more than capable of hosting the games.
“The most the population has gone up to is around 5000 to 6000 people so I believe that Niue will be able to host the Mini Games with the assistance from the New Zealand Government and also from Australia."

Niue is currently taking part in this year's Pacific Mini Games hosted in Vanuatu, which has more than 2000 participants and Fa'avae says they still have a few things to work on before 2025.
“Niue needs to work on its infrastructure. That’s the most important part of hosting international events and also creating new facilities which will compliment what they have at the moment but maybe looking at a bigger stadium that could be utilized for future games or future events.”
Pacific Games Council CEO Andrew Minogue will work with both American Samoa and Niue on how they can apply for the hosting rights.
