The Olympic gold-medalists made an entrance to the tournament with a 28 to nil win over Wales. A nail-biting match against Spain had the Fijians start their second half with only five players on the field, two penalised for high tackles. Spain took advantage of their five-side opposition with two tries, but the Fijians came back in full-force with the full team back on the field and sealed the match 24 to 12. They ended day one on a winning streak, beating Australia 26 to 15 and securing a spot in tomorrow's quarterfinals.
