Olympian Dame Valerie Adams is to receive a belated gold medal eight years after the fact.
Dame Valerie had originally finished second at the 2010 World Indoor Champs in Qatar with Belarus's Nadzeya Ostapchuk taking first place. But Ostapchuk later tested positive for drugs and was stripped of the gold medal.

Asked by Athletics New Zealand where she would like to receive her gold medal, Dame Valerie says the most appropriate place would be at the national championships, where she's won 15 senior New Zealand titles.
The presentation will take place after the women's shot put final at the New Zealand Track and Field Championships tonight in Hamilton.
Athletics New Zealand said Friday’s competition is the double Olympic champion’s first competition for 18 months and the first competitive outing since the birth of her daughter, Kimoana, in October.
Update: Double Olympian Dame Valerie won the national shot put title at the track and field last night. The three times Commonwealth champion will be heading into her fifth Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, sixteen years after her first.
