Pacific alumni at the University of Auckland are celebrating their 20th anniversary this week with an exhibition and talks by high profile members at the Fale Pasifika.
The formation of Niuean, Samoan, Tongan, Cook Islands and Fijian students associations have provided important support networks for Pacific students.

AUPISA (Auckland University Pacific Islands Students Association) Curator Melaia Mahina says the exhibition showcases the different cultural components that make up the Pacific alumni.
"We've got twenty years of t-shirts, hoodies and association gears from AUPISA as well as affiliated cultural associations," she says. "That we even have Pacific associations at our university, that in itself is something to celebrate."
The different affiliated associations include: AUCISA (Auckland University Cook Islands Students Association), GNV (Gone Ni Viti Fijian Association), NAFA (Niue Anga Fakamotu Association), TAUA (Tongan Association of the University of Auckland) and UASSA (University of Auckland Samoan Students Association).
