Samoan 90kg weightlifter Iuniarra Sipaia returned home from the recent Asian Championships in Turkmenistan with a bronze medal, but her future hangs in the balance after she tested positive for a banned substance.

The 25-year-old has been provisionally suspended by the International Weightlifting Federation for using triamcinolone acetonide, which is used as a cream to treat various skin conditions or mouth sores and in jabs for various joint conditions.
Oceania Weightlifting Institute's Paul Coffa hopes further tests will clear Sipaia but says it is a serious concern for the Pacific.
"The Oceania region has had a wonderful record in all the provinces that weightlifting is in around the world," he says. "Unfortunately this has stained our record and let's hope it gets cleared."
