Ruci Farrell - Senior Journalist

Ruci started writing in 1980 for the Fiji Times then the Fiji Sun before relocating to Auckland. She worked in mainstream newspapers for 18 years before joining Pacific Media Network ten years ago as a radio journalist. Ruci: “It’s a real buzz working alongside a great bunch of Pacific journos churning out great leads.”

Bob Wandstraat - Senior Journalist

Bob Wandstraat has been with PMN since its beginning in 2002 after working as a journalist for Radio New Zealand, as well as for newspapers in Australia, Hong Kong and the United States. He’s also lectured in journalism at The University of Queensland and ran the Pacific Island Journalism Course at Manukau Tech between 1989 and 1995.

Gladys Hartson - Senior Journalist

Talofa lava, for the past 15 years, I've had the privilege to work in Pacific Island media. Working as a reporter for Pacific Radio News has given me the chance to meet and speak with our Pasifika communities across the country and Pacific region.  Everyone has a special story to share, and I am always mindful not to take that for granted.

JaeD Victor - News Presenter

Pacific broadcaster since 1993 with Radio 531PI.  In 1999 he was the sports contributor for Pacific Peoples Magazine covering the South Pacific Games in Guam, USA.  In 2001 Jae’D returned to New Zealand and joined Niu FM.  Roles included Operations Manager, Programming Manager, Marketing & Promotions Manager, Programme Development Specialist and presently Journalist/Newsreader.

Levi Matautia-Morgan - Journalist

Since becoming a journalist Levi’s highlights include: interviewing his heroes Queensland legend Johnathan Thurston and former boxer David Tua; following the All Blacks in their 2016 Lions Tour campaign in Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin; and travelling to Niue and the Cook Islands with Governor General Dame Patsy Reddy.  Levi: “The truth is key and it’s my job to set it free.”

Mabel Muller - Journalist

Mabel Muller is of Tongan descent and recently joined the Pacific Radio News team. She graduated from AUT University with a Bachelor of Communication Studies majoring in Journalism in 2015. She helps manage Pacific Radio News’ Facebook and Twitter news.

Iulia Leilua - Head of News and Digital Content

Born and bred in Taumarunui, Iulia’s of Māori and Samoan descent.  She was a founding journalist for TVNZ’s ‘Tagata Pasifika’ in 1987 and Māori Television in 2003. Iulia helped establish the Pacific Islands Media Association in 2001. She is a multi-award winning journalist, PR consultant and entrepreneur.
